Switched - Amanda Hocking In the first book in the Trylle Trilogy, Switched, Amanda Hocking creates a modern day fairy tale that sucks its readers in from the very start. It is an exciting read that takes us to hidden places in our own world and introduces us to a part of our own society we're taught to ignore. This young adult paranormal romance is something that young and old alike will enjoy.

Wendy Everly has always felt different and set apart from everyone else. It is not surprising since her own mother tried to kill her when she was six, and she's changed schools so often due to problems with the other children. It's not that she doesn't want to make her brother and aunt happy, and she's trying extra hard at her latest school. Then she meets Finn, and he doesn't just think that she's different - he knows. Finn's job is to introduce her to a part of her life that she never knew existed and to keep her safe.

I have always wanted to read Amanda Hocking's books because I really admired her success story. After reading Switched, I had no doubt as to why she was so incredibly accomplished. The story was engrossing and the characters are adorable. Wendy and Finn are a fun duo to read and watch fall in love. I will most definitely be reading Torn when the print version releases.
