Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater is a paranormal romance aimed at a teen audience that is very similar to Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. It is told from the points of view of Grace and Sam, two teenagers in love that are separated by impossible circumstances. It is well-written and fresh, despite dragging at some points.
This was a very long book for me because I'm not a fan of the angsty teen genre. There was a lot of puppy eyed stares between the main characters between action and plot points, but the story itself was excellent when it was moving forward. I do want to point out that I adored Stiefvater's fascinating spin on why it is that werewolves change between their two forms.
This is not my favorite YA novel, but I would be lying if I said that I did not enjoy it. I have already placed a hold on Linger at the library, and I am looking forward to reading it.
